"The Devil's Tale" by James Stephenson
A sequel to Stravinsky's "L'histoire du Soldat" - The Soldier's Tale
Performed by the WIU Faculty Chamber Group, the "IgorManiacs."

Western Illinois University was part of consortium to have the piece written. Since the world premiere in the spring, 2013, the group has performed the work at the International Trumpet Guild Conference and has been invited to perform at the College Band Director's National Association's North Central Conference in 2014. They will release the first CD recording of the work during the 2013-14 academic year.
At the end of Stravinsky's famous "L'histoire du Soldat" the Devil closes with a triumphal dance, claiming victory over Joseph. Come see what happens to both Joseph and the Sam (the devil) in this clever sequel. Set in Las Vegas and Tulsa, OK in modern times.
