Your WIU Alumni Association started an amazing tradition in November 2011 with the first of many Western After Hours! Hundreds of alumni joined us on the first Thursday of every month for great food, great conversation and a few beverages! Due to it's success, we're continuing our tradition...moving it to Western Wednesdays! Our next installment of Western Wednesdays will take place on June 5 at Untitled in downtown Chicago from 5:00 to 7:00 pm!

Social, light appetizers while they last and cash bar- FREE

Suggested dress for Untitled is business casual. They require proper attire. Please, no t-shirts, shorts sandals or gym shoes.

Pre-registration is preferred, however walk-ins are welcome. To pre-register, please call 309-298-1914 or email A-Association@wiu.edu.

Join your Alumni Association and WIU Athletics for a great day on the golf course! We're heading back to Seven Bridges Golf Course by popular demand. Some of the comments we received from past golf outings held at Seven Bridges have been: "Great course!; Only time I get to play Seven Bridges.; Challenging but worth it!; Love this course!; and, Outstanding day on the golf course!" Special prizes for those 60 and older this year.

Join the WIU Alumni Association for the annual Quad Cities Golf Outing. This is your chance to golf the same course, TPC Deere Run, that the pros battle it out on at the nationally renowned PGA John Deere Classic. We have a great day planned with many new and exciting opportunities on several holes. The proceeds from this year's golf outing will go towards to the WIN Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Menu: Pulled Pork Sandwich, Rosemary Lemon Chicken Sandwich, Potato Salad, Tossed Salad, Roasted Red Skin Potatoes, Mexican-style corn, Cookies, and Iced Tea. Dinner will be served buffet style.
Lunch will be available for purchase.

Dress Code: All guests, volunteers, and vendors associated with the event are expected to adhere to the Club's dress code policies. Specifically, acceptable golf attire which includes a collared shirt, slacks or Bermuda length shorts. Denim of any kind, t-shirts, tank tops, cutoffs, tennis, running or other athletic attire are inappropriate forms of dress for both the clubhouse and the golf course. Any person not properly attired will not be allowed to play or participate in the event until their dress meets the Club's dress code standards. The use of non-metal spikes is required on the golf course at all times. Metal spike alternatives are available for purchase in the golf shop.

Watch the Chicago Cubs play the St. Louis Cardinals at Deuce's and The Diamond Club owned by WIU Alumnus Kevin Killermann. Our Social in the Diamond Club Room begins at 5:30 p.m. and the game begins at 6:15 p.m.

Social, food, and drink package available (well liquor cocktails, domestic bottled beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages) - $42/person registration

Menu:
- Caesar Salad: hearts of romaine lettuce, garlic croutons, white anchovies, shaved Parmesan cheese, Caesar dressing and lemon served in individual bowls

Sep. 14, 2013: WIU vs. University of Minnesota Pregame Social and Football Game

Join WIU Alumni Association to root on the WIU Leathernecks as they take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the stadium which has been nicknamed "The Gopher Hole". The day will begin with a pregame social with the location to be announced as plans are finalized. Football tickets and the pregame social will be sold as a package. Football ticket cost will be $15 plus social cost to be determined. Game time has not yet been set. Pregame social will begin 2 1/2 hours prior to game time.

Make plans to join your WIU Alumni Association to root on the Leathernecks as they take on the UNLV Rebels! We will be hosting a pregame social in the tailgate area under a tent. Tickets will also be available through us when purchasing tickets for the pregame social. Details have not yet been finalized. As soon as we have all the details, they will be posted along with costs for the social and football tickets. To help make your plans, we do know the football ticket cost will be $15 plus the social cost. Game time has not yet been determined. Pregame social will begin 2 1/2 hours prior to game time.

Celebrating Town and Gown 2013

To kick off our 2013 Homecoming festivities, WIU's annual Celebrating Town and Gown Event will be held in the fall again this year! We hope you will join us to help Western Illinois University and Macomb start WIU Homecoming 2013 in style. Celebrating Town and Gown will be held Thursday, October 3, 2013 to celebrate all President Jack Thomas and Mayor Mike Inman have accomplished over the past year for the WIU and Macomb communities!
NEW THIS YEAR-WIU will unveil Rocky on Parade. Join the 13 sponsors in seeing the 13 special Rocky sculptures as they are unveiled for the very first time! We hope you will save the date and join us for a great evening in Macomb! The Honorary Alumni and Town and Gown Awards will be presented at that time. A short program will begin at 6:15 p.m.

Rocky on Parade is a public art project that celebrates the University's traditions, strengthens the unity of campus and community, contributes to the economic vitality and quality of life in Macomb, and supports student scholarships. Imagine a ''pack'' of larger-than-life fiberglass bulldog sculptures, designed and created by regional artists, on long-term public display. Each bulldog will have a unique design and will be placed throughout the WIU campus and Macomb community.

You are invited to join Western Illinois University to view the WPA exhibit at the Figge. You will have the opportunity to view the exhibit at any time during the social. There will be a short program at 7 p.m. After the program, you will be invited to a "behind the scenes personal tour" given by Ann Marie Hayes-Hawkinson, Director of University Art Gallery, and Guest Curator, Dr. Gregory Gilbert.

Social and cash bar: $15/person

Western Illinois University's Federal Art Project Collection was formed in the 1930s when university officials commissioned works through the Public Works of Art Project, and later through the Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration (FAP/WPA). These paintings and prints once decorated classrooms, hallways and other public spaces on campus.

Nov. 24, 2013: St. Louis Alumni and Friends Event - Rams vs. Bears Pregame Social and Football Game

Join the WIU Alumni Association and hosts WIU Soccer Hall of Famer John '74 and Kathie '74 Sanders for a pregame social and football game. The location of our pregame social is still to be determined. The cost of the event includes a two-game package: Rams vs. Bears ticket, your choice of another Rams game this season, social and $10 Rams dollars voucher. When registering, please choose your second game ticket.
Choices for your second game are:
Cardinals Sept. 8;
Jaguars Oct. 6;
Titans Nov. 3;
Buccaneers Dec. 22.
All tickets are located in the 400 level on the north side of the dome.

12 p.m. - football game

Tickets that will be mailed to you are for Cardinals, Jaguars, and Titans games. Buccaneers tickets will be picked up at the Rams vs. Bears pregame social.

The St. Louis Rams ticket sales are final. Therefore, all tickets purchased through the WIU Alumni Association are non-refundable.
