Stop Killing Our Future
After a brutal killing of a 16-year old high school student, students at Western gathered together in order to put a stop to the continued violence against students and adults alike.
"Stop Killing Our Future", a program put together by Senior Pavielle Foster, was used as a springboard to quell the violence, as a group of students gathered together who were tired of watching family and friends torn apart by continued violence.
“When I saw the video or when I read the articles or I saw his mom and other people, I felt obligated to do a vigil or some type of memorial for Chicago public school students who have been killed in the last two years,” said Foster.
One after another, students and members of the group came forward to tell harrowing stories of how they have dealt with death and violence, stories ranging from shocking to stories of happiness from overcoming such a horrible event in thier lives.
