Black Male Mentoring Program

Research Component - "Making the Right Connection"

The study will be led by Dr. McBride from the School of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration.

The aim of the Black Male Mentoring program is to offer mentoring programming to black male freshmen and first-time black male transfer students.

The research component seeks to explore the impact of the program on its participants.

The initial phase of the research methods will be a Pre/Posttest survey and Questionnaires using Survey Monkey to collect the data. The students will be provided the survey links including the option to participate in or abstain from the study.

The Pre-test and Questionnaire were approved by Western Illinois University’s Institutional Review Board. The Pre-test and Questionnaire are anonymous.

The students will receive an invitation email directing them to the Survey links.
