Director of Purchasing Interview

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – One candidate for the Western Illinois University director of purchasing position will interview Monday, May 10 via Zoom.
John Rascon is the director of procurement services for the University of North Texas System. An open session will be held via zoom from time to time. Individuals interested in participating in the open sessions must register at https://form.jotform.com/203485030443144.
Rascon has served as the director of procurement services for the University of North Texas System since 2017. Previously, he was the purchasing manager for Parkland Health and Hospital System from 2013-2017. Rascon has also served as a buyer III for the City of Dallas (2012-2013); NPI-buyer for Sanmina-SCI (2011-2012); and puchasing manager (2005-2011) and senior buyer (2005-2010) for Fair-Play Scorecards.
Rascon earned his bachelor's degree from William Penn University in Iowa.
The purchasing director is responsible for directing the central purchasing operations for the institution. The director is responsible for the ongoing review and analysis of University business operations, including current University policies and procedures related to federal, state and local laws and regulations.
