MACOMB, IL -- These days, libraries across the nation are increasingly being used as community spaces for activities that involve more than books, and Western Illinois University's Leslie F. Malpass Library is on the cutting edge of this trend.

The growing popular activity of offering video and board game events in libraries will be celebrated this month, as libraries all over the nation celebrate National Gaming Day, an American Library Association (ALA)-supported event.

Western's Malpass Library has already held three Game Nites during Fall 2008, with another one slated from 7-10 p.m., Thursday, December 4.

Rocky Mascot even got in on recent Game Nite action and found a passion for the Wii Sports' boxing game this semester. Check out the video of Rocky taking on a "contender" in a Wii boxing match during Malpass Library's Nov. 6 Game Nite.
