WIU Fall Break Schedule

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University students will enjoy a one-week break from classes over the Thanksgiving holiday, Monday-Friday, Nov. 24-28.
Residence halls will close at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22 and reopen at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 30. Classes resume at 8 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1.
University offices will be open as usual Monday-Wednesday, Nov. 24-26. The University will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Thursday-Friday,
Nov. 27-28. The WIU-Quad Cities campus will be closed Thursday, Nov. 27 through Sunday, Nov. 30. Regular building hours will resume Monday, Dec. 1.
The University Union building will be open from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, with Burger King open from 8 a.m.–5 p.m. The Union will reopen at 8 a.m. daily and close at 4:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, Nov. 24-26.
The Union offices, the Bookstore and the Student Assistance and Parent Service Center also will be open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday; however, offices will be closed from 12-1 p.m. The Union Service Center will be open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, and Burger King's schedule will be 8 a.m.-3 p.m. The Union will be closed Nov. 27-29 and will resume regular hours Sunday, Nov. 30.
The Donald S. Spencer Student Recreation Center begins modified hours Friday, Nov. 21, with a 5:30 a.m.-7 p.m. schedule. The schedules for Saturday (Nov. 22) through Wednesday (Nov. 26) are: Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon; Sunday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Monday-Tuesday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Wednesday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. The center will be closed Thursday-Saturday (Nov. 27-29), and reopen Nov. 30 with regular Sunday hours noon-11 p.m. For more information, including times for the Aquatics Center and group fitness, visit student.services.wiu.edu/crec.
Western's Leslie F. Malpass Library will close at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21 and reopen Monday, Nov. 24 at 7:30 a.m. Monday-Wednesday Library hours are: 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; curriculum library, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.; music library, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; and the physical sciences library, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. See the library's schedule at wiu.edu/library/info/hours.
Students return to classes Monday, Dec. 1, two weeks before finals week (Dec. 15-19). Western's Fall Commencement Weekend (wiu.edu/commencement) is scheduled for Friday-Saturday, Dec. 19-20 in Western Hall.
Residence halls closing for winter break is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20. Halls will reopen at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009. Spring classes will begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20.
