MACOMB, IL -- Western Illinois University Libraries will host the final Game Nite of the Fall 2008 semester from 7-10 p.m., Thursday, Dec 4 at the Leslie F. Malpass Library, third floor.

The popular Game Nite series features Wii, Xbox, LAN and other video games, as well as board and card games, such as chess, Magic: The Gathering, Uno and role-playing games.

According to Jeffery Darensbourg, marketing and outreach librarian, this Game Nite, in conjunction with the University's 2008 theme, "Health and Wellness: Challenges and Responsibilities," will also focus on personal wellness and will feature fun games with a health-related focus.

"WIU's Beu Health Center, Alcohol and Other Drugs Resource Center (AODRC) and University Counseling Center are joining in on the fun and bringing games such as Sex Jeopardy, Alcohol Jeopardy and Bag-O, a version of the popular 'bags' game, in which one can learn how perception is distorted under the influence of alcohol," he said.

Wii Sports will be featured at the event, and attendees are welcome to bring their own games to Game Nite too, Darensbourg added.

Game Nite is open free to the public, and light snacks will be provided.
