Entertaining Health Lecture by Barb Bancroft Nov. 12

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University's Employee Wellness Committee will present speaker Barb Bancroft, a widely acclaimed health and wellness speaker who will be giving two presentations.

The presentations are at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12 in the University Union Heritage Room.

The first presentation, "Kick the Tires and Check Under the Hood," will discuss what males need to know about health maintenance. She will talk about staying healthy and the risks of heart disease, prostate health, cancer and sexual health. This fact-based, fast-paced lecture will highlight the differences in health maintenance and treatment of the many health issues just for men.

The second lecture, "Unstress for Success," will focus on stress and its effects. Bancroft will share not only the implications of stress on health and disease, but will also provide humorous ways to reduce stress in your daily routine to stay healthy and happy.

Bancroft is a registered nurse noted for her humorous, entertaining and information-packed seminars. She is the author of the books "Medical Minutiae," "An Apple a Day-the ABCs of Diet" and "Disease and Live a Little, Laugh a Lot."

WIU's Employee Wellness, School of Nursing, the dietetics, hospitality, fashion merchandising department and the College of Education and Human Services are sponsoring the lectures. Bancroft has conducted more than 2, 000 educational and motivational seminars on clinical topics and health maintenance.
