How do I become Recognized?

• Fill out a Recognition Packet and follow the procedures outlined in the Student Organization Handbook or at the Recognized Student Organization Workshops.

What are the requirements to start a new organization?

• 5 members (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, an additional member), an Advisor, mission statement, constitution, and completion of Recognition Packet.

Where can I find copies of all of the necessary forms?

• All of these forms can be found at The Office of Student Services/Student Activities located in Riverfront Hall.

Recognized Student Organization Workshops

• Interested in creating a student organization on campus? You need 5 members and an advisor! Come to the Student Organization Workshop to learn how to become a recognized student group. Check back for updates on when the Student Organization Workshops are being held!

Forms and Documents

• All of the forms you need to become a recognized student organization, maintain recognition, apply for funding, or any other student organizations needs can be found on our Forms page.

Funding

• Student Organizations are required to completed a Budget Request Packet in order to receive funding from the University. Additional sources of funding could be Talent Grants. Refer to the Student Organization Handbook for more information.

Use of Facilities

• Recognized student organizations in good standing with the Office of Student Services/Student Activities receive certain privileges as long as they comply with the requirements of said privileges. Some of the services offered to recognized student organizations are: use of bulletin boards around campus, reservation of tables, reservations of rooms/locations, copy services, use of fax machine, mailing services, and access to the master calendar.
