Western Leader

Become a Western Leader and #LeadTheWay at WIU!

A Western Leader is someone who holds a student leader position on campus through University Housing & Dining Services. The Western Leader Recruitment Process encompasses a variety of undergraduate student leader positions on campus. This year, we are seeking applicants for the Desk Assistant, Housing Ambassador, Resident Assistant and Summer Assistant positions on campus. One application and interview will occur for all positions!

How do I find out more information?

We created a Facebook Group that serves as an educational resource and positive space for students to find out all they need to know about becoming a Western Leader. Each week, several students who were chosen to serve as Western Leader Representatives will provide information based on personal and live-in experiences. We highly encourage students to join this group for weekly tips, special events, and to connect with other students who wish to serve the same purpose.

In addition to the Facebook Group, we have put together 4 informational sessions for students to find out more information and ask questions about being a Western Leader. These sessions will take place on;

  • December 2, 6pm, Thompson Hall E-Classroom
  • December 9, 6pm, Grote Hall E-Classroom
  • January 20, 6pm, Corbin Hall E-Classroom
