- The Quad City Chess Classic 2023
- Time: 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM
- Location: WIU-QC Riverfront Hall, Rooms 103/104
- Description: The tournament, which will include WIU-QC students, WIU Leathernecks Chess Club Moline and the Illowa Chess Club from the Quad Cities, is designed to explore students' minds through strategy and determination, while forming new relationships.
Registration is required to participate and can be completed the day of the tournament from 8:30-9:30 a.m. USCF membership is required for both FIDE & USCF rated Open (Iowa Grand Prix Qualifier) and Under 1500 tournaments.
Schedule of tournament includes:
FIDE & USCF Open (Saturday): 9:30 a.m. start, 2 p.m. start, 6:30 p.m. start
FIDE & USCF Open (Sunday): 9:30 a.m. start, 2 p.m. start
Under 1500 (Saturday): 9:30 a.m. start, 1:15 p.m. start, 3:45 p.m. start, 6:30 p.m. start
Unrated Beginner: 10 a.m. start, rounds to follow
Free pizza, snacks and soft drinks will be served. Prizes for top finishers will be awarded following the tournament.
