Science Saturday Episode 7: History and Science of Microwaves

Description: The Western Illinois University Department of Physics will host episode seven of its Virtual Science Saturday, "Exploring Microwave Ovens: The History and Science," from 10-11 a.m. April 3.

This episode will be taught by senior chemistry major and history minor Jesse Caverly, of Canton, IL. It will include information about the history behind the invention of microwave ovens, how chemistry and physics are involved and some interesting demonstrations. The presentation is designed for students in grades K-12 and for the general public.

Virtual Science Saturday is hosted by the WIU Department of Physics, is open to anyone and can be joined at bit.ly/WIUScienceSaturday.
