Sep. 16, 2026: Eagle View Mobile Dental Clinic

MACOMB, Ill. - Eagle View Community Health System, in partnership with Western Illinois University, will host a mobile dental clinic on the WIU campus on Tuesday, September 16, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clinic will be located in parking lot 16 east of the Union Parking Lot.

The mobile unit will bring dental care directly to students, providing a convenient way to access services without traveling to a fixed clinic location.

Eagle View accepts Illinois and Iowa Medicaid and participates with many dental insurance plans, though dental benefits vary by plan. For patients without adequate coverage, Eagle View also offers a Sliding Fee Discount Program, which reduces the cost of care based on household size and income. Discounts may be available regardless of insurance status.

Patients interested in the sliding fee program can ask for an application at the time of the visit; approval is based on Federal Poverty Guidelines and proof of household income, and typically remains valid for 12 months.

Sep. 17, 2026: State Senator Halpin to Speak at Constitution Day Event

In recognition of Constitution Day, which commemorates the signing of the Constitution in Philadelphia in 1787, Illinois State Senator Mike Halpin (36th Senate District) will be giving a talk at 11:00am on Thursday, September 17 in the University Union's Capitol Room entitled "Protecting the Freedom to Speak, Assemble and Be Heard: The Constitution in Action."

The event can also be viewed live on the WIU YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/@WiuEduMacomb. Users can find the event under the "Live" tab. The event will also run on the WIU YouTube link for later viewing.

The event is sponsored by the WIU School of Social Sciences.

Students, alumni, faculty and staff are invited to take part in Western Illinois University's Homecoming tradition, Paint the Paws. Hosted by the Western Illinois University Alumni Association, the Paint the Paws event involves the painting of more than 200 paws along University Drive and Western Avenue to welcome Alumni back to campus and display school spirit.
