Women's International League for Peace and Freedom

- Description: Join us for a REAL Women: Women as Researchers, Educators, Activists & Leaders Presentation on the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF).
WILPF is the oldest international women's peace organization. WILPF members work for peace, disarmament, human rights and social justice. These include some distinguished figures and notably, two Nobel Peace laureates. In 1931, Jane Addams, WILPF's International President was awarded the Prize for her leadership in both peacemaking and social justice.
Please join us on International Women's Day for a discussion with Peggy Knoepfle of the WILPF Mary Wood Branch in Springfield, IL and members of other Springfield community activism organizations about ways in which their members collaborate to carry out their vision and mission and how members of our campus and local communities might get involved, including Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) ratification efforts.
