- Description: The Annual John Hallwas Liberal Arts Lecture will be held on Tuesday, October 13th, at 7:00 pm in the University Union Grand Ballroom. This year's speaker is Dr. James La Prad, Director of the School of Education and a Professor of Philosophical and Social Foundations of Education. Dr. La Prad's talk is titled "Democracy and Education: Our American Experiment and Who's Sitting in the Empty Chair?" Light refreshments will be served after the talk.
