"OCEANS BETWEEN US": Fall Choral Concert - Dr. Brian J. Winnie and Dr. Jason Hawkins, conductors w/guest musicians
Time: 7:30 PM
Location: COFAC Recital Hall
Description: This performance is free and open for general seating and will be live-streamed on the School of Music's YouTube channel and Facebook page.

“Oceans Between Us” was inspired by the Swedish folk song, Trilo, which is about someone longing for a loved one who has gone to sea, and it is typically sung upon their return. Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Treble Choir will perform a variety of pieces that coincide with this theme. Some are poetic depictions of the ocean, some are about life at sea, and others discuss the division between us on a more philosophical level. The University Singers will finish the program with pieces that reflect the experiences from two vantage points, the loved one who is adventuring at sea, and the loved one who is back home awaiting their return.

This program also celebrates diverse composers and vocal colors. You will hear belting, various vocal soundscapes, and classical styles of singing throughout the program.
