All "Hail" WIU Taxis
This holiday season, there is more to see in Chicago than just the Macy's seasonal window decorations. In early December, Chicago will be illuminated with purple and gold in addition to red and green. Specifically, Western will light up the night in the Windy City thanks to 100 illuminated taxi top displays on cabs in downtown Chicago plus an illuminated digital billboard located at I-294 and North Avenue near O'Hare.
"Western is pleased to continue its branding and awareness building efforts through this current outdoor campaign in Chicago. In addition to being one of the world's greatest cities, Chicago is home to thousands of WIU alumni and current and prospective students. Western is one of the best choices in the state for an excellent and affordable education. Thanks to a partnership between University Marketing and Vice President for Student Services, Dr. Garry Johnson, Western will continue to get this message out in the Chicago area," said Kristin Dunstan, Director of University Marketing.
The digital billboard features a series of nine designs that highlight Western's tag line of "Higher Values in Higher Education" plus our core values of academic excellence, educational opportunity, personal growth, and social responsibility. The designs showcase current students and faculty in addition to highlighting WIU alumni including Vice Chairman of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Charlie Carey '75, and current CEO of COUNTRY Financial, John Blackburn '70. The taxi tops feature current students with Western's continued ranking as a "Best Midwestern College" by The Princeton Review plus messages of "Excellence and Affordability Guaranteed."
