WQPT Hosting Open House | WIU Signs Agreement with DAU | Staff and Faculty Recognition Ceremony

WQPT Hosting Open House June 30

WQPT is hosting an Open House at their new Crown Center location in Moline on Wednesday, June 30 at 5:00 p.m.

WQPT, the Quad Cities public television affiliate for the past 27 years, became a part of the Western Illinois University-Quad Cities family May 1.

According to Joe Rives, vice president for Quad Cities, planning and technology at WIU, the Black Hawk College and Western Illinois University boards approved the transfer at their respective meetings in October 2009, and the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) approved the transfer in December. The agreement transfers the ownership of WQPT's broadcast license and all physical and monetary assets to Western and the WIU Foundation.

WIU Signs Agreement with DAU

Western Illinois University and Defense Acquisition University (DAU) joined forces May 6 at the Acquisition Insight Day at the i wireless Center in Moline (IL) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding to provide educational opportunities DAU students at Western.

"We are excited to enter into this agreement with Defense Acquisition University to provide quality educational opportunities to not only those DAU students residing in the Quad Cities region, but those around the globe as well," said Joe Rives, WIU vice president for Quad Cities, planning and technology.

The WIU-QC Staff and Faculty Recognition Ceremony was held May 12 and honored the following employees:
