Military Science

LTC Seifert graduated from Indiana University and was commissioned in 1988 as an Adjutant General Corps officer.  His first active duty assignment was with the Eighth U.S. Army, Korea.  He served as Platoon Leader, 66th AG Company, Camp Humphreys, Korea.  During Operation Desert Shield/Storm, he served as Platoon Leader, 24th Personnel Services Company, 24th Infantry Division.   He subsequently served as Chief, G-1 Officer Management, 24th Infantry Division, and Battalion S-1, Joint Task Force Bravo, Honduras.  

Following the AG Officer Advanced Course, LTC Seifert commanded HHC, 43d AG Battalion, and subsequently served as Secretary of the General Staff, U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  He returned to Korea in 1996 as the Battalion S-3, 516th Personnel Services Battalion, later commanded the HHC, 8th Personnel Command and served as Chief, Theater Army Personnel Systems Division.  Subsequently, he served as POW/MIA team leader in the U.S. Army Casualty and Memorial Affairs Operations Center, U.S. Army Human Resources Command.  

Following the Command and General Staff College, LTC Seifert was assigned to Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he served as Battalion S-3, 82d Paratrooper Support Battalion, 82d Airborne Division, and later served as Corps G-1 Strength Manager, XVIII Airborne Corps & Fort Bragg.  During Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005-2006) he served as the Corps Deputy G-1 for XVIII Airborne Corps and Multi-National Corps Iraq.  After OIF, he assumed duties as the last Assistant Chief of Staff, G-1, XVIII Airborne Corps Artillery, serving until its inactivation.  He deployed again in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2008-2009) as the Secretary of the Joint Staff, XVIII Airborne Corps and Multi-National Corps Iraq.  In June 2009, LTC Seifert assumed duties as the Professor of Military Science for Western Illinois University and Monmouth College.

LTC Seifert's awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), the Army Commendation Medal (3 awards), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (2 Awards) and other campaign and service related ribbons. He is a Senior Parachutist.

He is a graduate of Indiana University and received a masters degree in human resource development from Webster University.  He is married and has three children.
