MAJ Thresher first enlisted and went to basic training at Ft. Knox, KY. He later was commissioned in 1996 from University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geography.
MAJ Thresher is a graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic Course and Advance Course at Ft. Leonardwood, MO. He also graduated from the Combined Arms Course.
As an Engineer Officer, MAJ Thresher has been assigned to various types of engineer units, to include: Platoon Leader in a Bridge Company, Company Command of a Pipeline Company, Planning and Operation Officer positions at Heavy, Wheeled, and Mechanized Engineer Battalions. MAJ Thresher has also served as an Executive Officer in a Drill Sergeant Company and now as an Assistant Professor of Military Science and Recruiting Operations Officer at Western Illinois University.
MAJ Thresher is married and he and his wife Michele have a daughter and a son.
