2014 Monthly Updates

  • December 2014 Update:
    Synopsis:  Last month’s  Strategic Plan Update  provided data from  Washington Monthly’s  annual college rankings to show how the University is advancing its vision of being a leader in quality, opportunity, and affordability, and supporting the core values of educational opportunity and social responsibility.
    This month’s  Strategic Plan Update  provides further evidence from  Money Magazine’s 2014 Best Colleges Rankings  to show how the University’s is advancing quality, affordability, and student outcomes. It also shows how many of the reports and resolutions presented at the December 19, 2014, Western Illinois’ University Board of Trustees meeting advance the goals and priorities of  Higher Values in Higher Education.

    Synopsis:  This month’s  Strategic Plan Update  provides national comparative data to show how the University is successfully advancing the vision and values of  Higher Values in Higher Education.
  • October 2014 Update:
    Synopsis:  This month’s  Strategic Plan Update  shows how many reports and resolutions presented at the October 3, 2014 Western Illinois University Board of Trustees meeting directly relate to the continued successful advancement of the priorities and goals in  Higher Values in Higher Education  and the  Long Term Plan for Western Illinois University.

    Synopsis:  This month’s  Strategic Plan Update  shows how the students, faculty, and staff of Western Illinois University continue to advance the vision the mission, vision, and values of  Higher Values in Higher Education.
  • August 2014 Update:
    Synopsis:  This month’s  Strategic Plan Update  provides information on the September 3rd Grand Opening for Phase II of the Western Illinois University-Quad Cities Riverfront Campus, and for the September 14th and 24th off-campus location review from the Higher Learning Commission-North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
  • July 2014 Update:
    Synopsis:  At the June 6, 2014 Western Illinois University Board of Trustees meeting, it was announced that 1,460 students (1,175 undergraduate and 285 graduate) earned academic degrees after the Spring 2014 semester, and 32 faculty members earned tenure. This month’s  Strategic Plan Update  shows how the academic excellence and educational opportunities continued at Western Illinois University during the summer semester. It also shows that as the University continues preparation for academic year 2014-2015, there will be even more educational opportunities promoting academic excellence, personal growth, and social responsibility.

  • January 2014 Update:
    Synopsis:  This month’s  Strategic Plan Update  discusses Western Illinois University’s participation in the Higher Learning Commission’s Persistence and Completion Academy. This includes an invitation for all interested members of the campus community to serve on subcommittees studying and improving freshmen retention in Macomb and the Quad Cities; and also a subcommittee studying and improving retention of on-line students.
