Macomb Campus

Driving Directions
  • From the Chicago area: travel west on I-88 or I-80. On I-88W, exit #1A to I-74 east to Peoria. On I-80W, exit I-74 east to Peoria. On I-74 east, exit #46A to U.S. 34 west to Galesburg/Monmouth. At Monmouth, travel Highway 67 south, 30 miles to Macomb.
  • From St. Louis and other points south: Travel U.S. 67 north to Macomb through Illinois; OR travel I-70 west or U.S. 40/61 north to U.S. 61 north. At Hannibal, travel U.S. 36 east to I-172/U.S. 336/IL 94 north. At Carthage,travel U.S. 136 east 25 miles to Macomb.

Amtrak

Amtrak has twice daily round-trip service to and from Chicago’s Union Station and Macomb. The expanded state service, known as the Carl Sandburg route (Trains 381 and 382), and the traditional Illinois Zephyr route (Trains 380 and 383) both reach Macomb.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available nationwide through Amtrak.com, by calling 800-USA-RAIL, or at an authorized travel agent.

Quad Cities Campus

Located in Moline, Illinois on the banks of the Mississippi River, the Quad Cities campus is served by several major roads (I-88, I-74, and several major state highways), an international airport, bus, and taxi services. For maps and directions, please visit the WIU-QC website.

Nearby Airports

Macomb does not have an airport that you can fly into directly. We recommend that you use Chicago O'Hare (ORD), Chicago, IL or Quad Cities International Airport (MLI) in Moline, Illinois.

    • During orientation, new international students can arrange to be picked up from the Quad Cities International Airport.
  • Chicago O'Hare (ORD) and Midway Airports (MDW), Chicago, IL 
    • Amtrak train goes to Macomb twice daily.
