CBT Travel & Study Abroad Programs

Australia - Ag Down Under • March 11-22, 2015

This Study Abroad Course offers you a variety of opportunities to witness agricultural processes "down under". You will visit Charles Sturt University to tour livestock and other agricultural facilities and interact with their students. Additional visits are planned to farm businesses, vineyards, and wineries to explore other facets of agricultural enterprise. Cultural excursions round out the course with stops in Melbourne and Sydney including a tour of the world-famous Opera House. Open to all majors.

London & Paris – European Business Study • May 18-29, 2015

The Course begins in London. While there, you’ll learn about British culture and history through visits to the Tower of London, Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and other popular sites. Visits to the Bank of England and other business ventures provide insight into British business culture. After four days in London, the Course shifts to Paris. French business practices are explored through visits to IBM and other companies while French culture and history is discovered through visits to Notre Dame, Versailles, the Eiffel Tower, and many others. Open to all majors.

Dublin, Ireland – Business Practices and Culture of Ireland • May 23-30, 2015

Through visits to Dublin-based businesses such as Guinness Storehouse, Butler’s Chocolates, and The General Post Office, you will gain insights into their business practices, drawing both parallels and contrasts to those in the U.S. A lecture by faculty at the Dublin Business School will further expand your understanding of Irish business strategies and management techniques. Irish history, culture, and traditions are explored at Trinity College’s Old Library and Book of Kells Exhibition, the Oscar Wilde House, a day tour titled “Celts and Castles”, a dinner experience titled “Food, Folklore, and Fairies”, and much more! Open to all majors.

Ireland - WIU in Belfast • mid-July to mid-August, 2015 (3 weeks)

Based at the Institute of Irish Studies at Queen's University in Belfast, this Study Abroad Program combines pre-departure work online, on-site classroom instruction and excursions to give you a fuller picture of Northern Ireland. Prior to departure, you will reflect on your identity through readings and online discussions. Your on-site lectures are taught in an interdisciplinary approach by leading academics from various departments at Queen's University, including history, Irish studies, management, English, and politics. Outside experts present additional information on various topics, both in lectures and site visits. Evening activities include Irish dancing, music, and cinema. No matter your major or areas of interest, Northern Ireland has something for you. Open to all majors.

Atlantis Integrated Dual Degree Program – 1 Year

Earn a European bachelor’s degree in business by spending your freshman and sophomore year at WIU and your junior year in Lyon, France and Linkoping, Sweden. Return to WIU to finish a second Bachelor’s degree or apply for the MBA program. Open to all Business majors.
