Dr. Urby brings a unique and important perspective to Emergency Management with his focus on highly-valued Public Administration principles and related interdisciplinary fields. Dr. Urby studied under the eminent emergency management scholar and researcher, Dr. David A. McEntire -- his Major Professor. It was Dr. McEntire who facilitated the trips and research in Latin America, while Dr. Urby served as a Research Assistant and Teaching Fellow at the University of North Texas.

Dr. Urby has presented many research and writing projects to professionals and others at local, state, and national venues, which are at the cutting-edge of Emergency Management research. He has also produced and published a number of seminal and other peer-reviewed publications in the Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management; Journal of Emergency Management; Law Enforcement Executive Forum; among others. He hopes to continue assisting students who influence emergency management through their lives and careers -- and who will contribute greatly in service to others for years to come!
