MAJ RICHARD D. HELLING
MAJ Richard D. Helling is from Galesburg IL. He enlisted in the Army in June 1992. Upon completion of his enlistment, MAJ Helling attended Western Illinois University from which he graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a commission in the United States Army Transportation Corps. In addition, MAJ Helling is a graduate of the Army’s Command and General Staff College and holds a Master of Science in Education from Kansas State University.
MAJ Helling’s tours of duties include Fort Eustis, Virginia; Bosnia Herzegovina; Camp Darby, Italy; Fort Riley, Kansas; Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Schofield Barracks, Hawaii and Fort Belvoir, Virginia. In addition, MAJ Helling completed three combat tours in Iraq where he served in Mosul, Baghdad and Baqubah.
MAJ Richard Helling’s military awards and decorations include three Bronze Stars, three Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Service Accommodation Medal and the Army Staff Badge.
