MAJ Tamara Lee enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1989 where she served as a computer/teletype technician on active duty for four years.  She then transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve and achieved the rank of SSG/E-6 before she was honorably discharged in 1997. 

In 2006, after a nine year break in service to raise four children and attend college, MAJ Lee enlisted in the United States Army Reserve as an Ammunition Sergeant at the rank of SGT/E5.  She received a Direct Commission in October of 2006 while serving with 826 Ordnance Company, Rockford, IL, and served as a Platoon Leader for two years.  In 2009, MAJ Lee transferred to 302nd MP CO, Grand Prairie, TX, where she served as an Executive Officer.  In 2010 MAJ Lee deployed with 844th Engineer Company, Knoxville, TN, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where she served as Executive Officer of a Forward Support Company, coordinating logistics and movement operations across the entire country of Iraq.  In 2012 she transferred to Alpha Company, 378th MI BN, where she served as Commanding Officer and branched into the Military Intelligence Corps.  In 2016 MAJ Lee was selected to serve as the Command Foundry Officer for the Military Intelligence Readiness Command, Ft Belvoir, VA.  In 2019 MAJ Lee was selected for the Active Guard Reserve Program and assigned to the 91st Training Division, Ft Hunter Liggett, CA as Chief Training Officer. 

MAJ Lee transferred to the Western IL University ROTC Program as Assistant Professor of Military Science in 2021.  She is the recipient of the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, two Meritorious Service Medals, two Army Commendation Medals, and six Army Reserve Component Achievement Medals and various other accolades.  MAJ Lee is the proud parent of four grown children.
