Violin

Dear Prospective International Student/Overseas Education Advisor,

My name is Julieta Mihai and I am the Associate Professor of Violin at Western Illinois University School of Music in Macomb, Illinois, as well as the first violinist of the Julstrom String Quartet and the concertmaster of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and Illinois Chamber Orchestra in Springfield.

Western Illinois University is pleased to announce one scholarship opportunity for an international undergraduate violinist. The attached one-page announcement describes what is necessary to be considered for this scholarship and to be admitted to Western Illinois University. The students who are awarded this scholarship are expected to begin study at Western Illinois University in the fall 2011 semester.

Any consideration you may provide to bring this to the attention of interested students will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email or call me.

The School of Music has over 40 full-time faculty and over 240 music majors for 2010-11. The close student/faculty ratio enables us to fully commit ourselves to the academic progress of our students. Our school has a state of the art 500-seat concert hall that is an ideal venue for solo, chamber music and orchestra concerts as well as for recordings of professional quality. For ease of reference I have included links to the School of Music and About Dr. Mihai.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Sincerely yours,
Julieta Mihai, DMA
