Kelsey Chandler and Raquel Carranza, student employees of University Libraries, have been chosen as the 2015-2016 recipients of the William H. and Eva Little Graham Libraries’ Student Assistant Scholarship. The scholarship, awarded to those who have demonstrated excellence in the performance of their assignment, will go towards educational expenses for the Spring 2016 semester. “We are delighted to have this assistance available for these two worthy individuals,” says Dean of Libraries Michael Lorenzen.

Kelsey Chandler is a sophomore and a Law Enforcement and Justice Administration major. Chandler has worked in the Libraries’ Administrative Office since August of 2014. Her nominator and current supervisor, Mary Day, says that “Kelsey is an extremely conscientious, reliable and trustworthy person.” Chandler was on the Dean’s List last year and is also a member of the Residence Hall Student Government. The scholarship assistance will help Chandler fund her education in the Spring 2016 semester. “I am very grateful to have received this award and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to those who donate to this scholarship,” she stated.

Raquel Carranza is a junior Accounting major who has worked in the Access Services department since August of 2014. Her nominator, Unit Coordinator for Access Services Greg Phelps, states that “Raquel is dependable and punctual. I never have to worry about projects or jobs she completes for our unit.” Raquel has found that the attention to detail required for her duties in the library is helping to prepare her for her future job as an auditor. “I appreciate everyone that has contributed to this scholarship which will help me pay for my educational expenses,” she added.
