What does it cost for student ID card?

The first card is free for students, faculty and staff.

Policy for Submitting Picture (if you are unable/prefer not to take in-person)

Procedure
  • Send photo (USING YOUR WIU EMAIL) as an attachment to Curtis Williams at cm-williams11@wiu.edu .
  • Be sure to include your WIU # (a 9-digit identification # given at the time of your admittance, beginning with a "9").
  • Regularly check your WIU email to make sure photo was accepted, etc.
  • You must show a government issued photo ID (such as a Driver's License, State ID, Passport, or Military ID) to pick up your printed Western ID card.
  • Completed cards may be picked up at Quad Cities Complex, Building C, room Q1416E, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
  • If your completed card is not picked up within 14 business days (not including holidays/days the campus is closed) - your card will be destroyed. You will be required to pay for any additional cards printed.
Photo Requirements
  • Image must be in .jpg format.
  • Image must be less than 150 KB in size.
  • Photo is for identification purposes - photo must clearly ID you as a person.
  • Must have a solid background (no other people/objects in photo).
  • Photo must be in color.
  • Must have sufficient lighting (no shadows, etc.).
  • You must be looking straight at the camera (no side profiles).
  • No borders on the photo.
  • There must at least be a small space between your head and the top of the image (and it can't go much lower than your collarbone).
  • No hats or sunglasses allowed.
  • Do not upload copyrighted photos.

*This photo will be part of your ID throughout your time at Western. Please keep this in mind when selecting your photo. Photos that do not meet the above guidelines will be rejected. If your photo cannot be used we will ask you to resubmit your photo or we will take your photo in-person.
