Admissions

Welcome, Out-of-State Students!

WIU offers two BIG things to help you meet your potential:

  • No matter where you come from in the U.S., you will receive in-state tuition rates.
  • 4-Year cost guarantee for tuition, fees, ROOM and MEALS. This is better than cost guarantees you'll find at other universities.

Western offers students two campuses. Macomb, IL is home to our residential campus in a safe and welcoming college-town community. Moline, IL (Quad Cities) is home to our non-residential campus in a dynamic metropolitan area.

WIU is located approximately 1 hour from Burlington and Keokuk, IA; 4 hours from Chicago; 3 hours from St. Louis, MO; and 5 hours from Indianapolis, IN. You are welcome to bring your car to campus. Once you are here, take advantage of WIU’s free bus service to easily get to and from your classes on campus and activities in our community.

I'm from out of state and coming to Western was a big adjustment but WIU made it so easy.
