Standard Operating Procedures for Medical Emergencies

For Honors Convocation and All Macomb Commencement Ceremonies

All ceremonies are staffed by Western Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel. Western EMS is a non-transport Basic Life Support Service. EMS staff provides direct patient care to the Western Illinois University population and visitors to campus. For more information, visit www.wiu.edu/wems.
A public first-aid station is located in the east/west hallway on the south side of Western Hall. Western EMS personnel are present in the first aid station and throughout Western Hall at all times during the ceremonies. Appropriate signage is posted leading to the first aid station.
Wheelchairs are available throughout Western Hall. One wheelchair is located at the Information Center in the East Arena at all times for medical emergencies.
