External Vendors Architect: Hurst Rosche Engineers, Inc. General Contractor: Chat LTD.
Total Project Cost Approximately $200,000
Projected Completion Date October 23, 2015

Project Description

This project involves the replacement of select roof components on the cupola; lead paint abatement; a complete re-coating and re-painting; select repair to existing metal; and a replacement of the columns, column bases, and column capitals. The new columns, bases, and capitals will be made of a composite resin as opposed to wood. This material is approved by Illinois Historic Preservation Association (IHPA). It requires less maintenance and it will last longer than wood, which was previously used on the cupola. This project is expected to begin the week of June 22, and should be complete before the start of the school this fall.

Updates

The scaffolding is being taken down and should be complete by Friday, December 18, 2015.
