I. STUDENT APPEALS

A. Non-Degree

1. Request for a late withdrawal

Motion: To approve the request. (House/Lough)

II. ANNOUNCEMENTS

A. Academic integrity incident reports filed in the School of Graduate Studies, February 2023 (1)

B. Graduate Research Conference Recap

Ms. Schulz provided information regarding the tenth annual Graduate Research Conference. It was the first in person conference since covid. There was a smaller than usual number of presenters but the committee is looking at some changes that will hopefully increase participation levels.

C. Graduate Council Nomination and Election Procedures

Ms. Schulz announced that nomination petitions would be emailed to full members of the graduate faculty in the next week followed by emailed ballots if needed. Vacant seats will be from the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business and Technology, and the College of Education and Human Services. New members will be invited to the last regular meeting on April 24, 2023.


III. GRADUATE CURRICULUM

A. Business Administration

1. Request for a 400-G level course

a. MKTG 417, International Marketing, 3 s.h.

Dr. Koo provided information and stated that the course introduces principles and strategies of international marketing. Graduate students will complete a comprehensive report that analyzes a country before selecting the best marketing entry mode for that specific country. Dr. Babin noted that the objectives need to be reworded.

b. MKTG 429, Marketing Measurement and Pricing, 3 s.h.

Ms. Wiencek stated that the purpose of the course is utilizing a matrix to pull important data for decision making. Graduate students will look at unified data analytics while doing secondary research and focusing on predicting future trends.

c. MKTG 431, Direct Marketing, 3 s.h.

Ms. Wiencek provided an overview of the course content noting that the graduate students will complete a larger project and additional smaller assignments.

B. Museum Studies

1. Request for a new graduate (500 or 600-level) course

a. MST 510, Historic House Museums, 3 s.h.

Dr. Lung provided background on the course request stating that over half of museums are historic houses. The course provides relevant hands on experience in the QC area with current historic house museums. The students will participate in a culminating project to provide suggestions for houses to move forward in a sustainable way. Dr. Babu noted a minor change to the abbreviated title.
