Black Faculty and Staff Council

The Black Faculty and Staff Council (BFSC) is dedicated to improving the quality of the Black experience at WIU by fostering an inclusive campus climate. We are committed to establishing a proactive environment that is sensitive to the issues and concerns that Black faculty, staff and students face including issues related to recruitment, retention, graduation, and promotion.

  • Fostering a sense of unity and collegiality among Black faculty and staff;
  • Bringing issues of importance concerning Black faculty, staff, and students to the attention of senior administrators at WIU;
  • Serving as a resource to connect Black WIU community members to Macomb and its surrounding communities.

We invite Black-identified faculty and staff members to join us for our bi-weekly meetings each semester. All meetings will be held via Zoom 12:00 pm - 1:00pm CST. The Black Faculty and Staff council can be reached via email, bfsc@wiu.edu.
