Mathematics Scholarships for Transfer Students

MATHEMATICS ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIPS
These are $600 scholarships awarded to students through the generosity of alumni of the Department of Mathematics. They are given to new freshman mathematics majors, currently enrolled mathematics majors and transfer students who have mathematics as the intended major. Each recipient must remain a math major for the period of the scholarship.

Criteria for transfer students

  1. Must be transferring with mathematics as the intended major.

  2. Must have an overall college grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4-point scale. Students with less than 30 semester hours must submit a copy of ACT or other standardized test scores.

  3. Must have a 3.0 or higher grade point average in mathematics courses that count in the major. The number of mathematics courses completed will be one consideration.

  4. Must be recommended by two faculty members addressing the student's interest in mathematics and potential to succeed in a career related to mathematics.

Must remain a math major for the period of the scholarship.
