New Student Orientation

WIU-Quad Cities New Student Orientation: In Person and Virtual Options

New Student Orientation (NSO) is where you begin your life as a Leatherneck at WIU-QC! Whether you are a first-year or a transfer, undergraduate, or graduate student, NSO will be an exciting experience where you can get ready for both your in-class and out of classroom experiences, meet current students, staff, and faculty, and begin friendships with other new students.

Option 1

Register for and attend a live virtual session on the dates listed below. There are two times to pick from - 11 AM and 5 PM. This option will include a live intro and an opportunity to ask questions, followed by time to review additional online materials. Virtual NSO sessions will last up to 2 hours depending on your areas of interest. Select the NSO time that fits your schedule and register online . Family members are welcome to participate with you.

Option 2

Participate in NSO at your own pace, whenever works best for you! Visit our Virtual NSO page for presentations, videos, and additional resources that will help prepare you for the start of the semester. If after exploring the site, you have questions about any of the materials, please reach out to the WIU staff or faculty member listed. When you have completed NSO, please fill out the confirmation/evaluation on the final page - you may win some WIU swag!

Option 3
