Short-Term Loan Programs

Scholarship Student Working at Radio Station. The Short-Term Loan Program was established in 2003 by the WIU Scholarship Office in cooperation with the WIU Foundation and the Office of Billings and Receivables. The purpose of the short-term loan program is to give assistance to students in need of short-term support. There are two types of short-term loans, Textbook Vouchers and Cash. Short-term loans are based on students' financial aid.

To apply for a short-term loan students must come to the Scholarship Office in Sherman Hall 308. The maximum amount for each loan is $500, and students are expected to pay the loans by the end of the semester in which they borrowed the money. Students with outstanding loans will not be permitted a second loan until the first loan is paid. Failure to pay back a loan can also cause a student not to be able to register for the next semester.
