Individual Counseling
Individual counseling helps students to increase self-understanding and relate to others more effectively. Professional counselors assist in exploration of students' concerns and offer guidance in reaching their full potential. Some of the types of concerns that can be addressed in personal counseling are: transition to college life, interpersonal relationship difficulties, lack of self confidence or self esteem, stress, anxiety, depression, sexual assault, family concerns, sexual orientation/identity concerns, alcohol/substance abuse and eating concerns.
Group Counseling
Group Counseling provides students the opportunity to focus on the common problems that members of a particular group face, while also providing mutual support and shared resources. Click here to see our current group flyer. The BIPOC support group is open to WIU students wishing to connect over shared experiences, discuss concerns, and build community.
