Finish Line: Supporting Returning Leathernecks

Life happens. Western Illinois University is committed to supporting returning Leathernecks in crossing the finish line.

We know some goals take longer than others to accomplish, and we are here when you are ready. Finish Line is focused on Leathernecks who have completed at least 90 credit hours at WIU but have not finished their degrees. Finish Line supports students in obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies with options entirely online, in-person, or a combination of both at a reasonable pace.

The Finish Line program is funded by a generous gift from the Jeanne Schilling estate. Jeanne graduated from WIU with her Bachelor of Arts in General Studies degree in 1992. Through Jeanne's generous support, some returning Leathernecks will be awarded $500 to support their academic endeavor.

Students may be considered for additional financial aid (grants, scholarships, loans, and employment) to cover additional educational expenses.
