Rocky's Play Space
WIU Bilingual Early Learning and Family Center
Opened in July 2025, the WIU Bilingual Early Learning & Family Center offers a high-quality, university-aligned early learning experience for both native Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking families. Our warm, engaging environment supports children’s development while introducing them to the cognitive, social, and cultural benefits of bilingualism from an early age.
Through our Spanish Dual Language curriculum, children are immersed in meaningful language experiences every day. Native Spanish speakers strengthen and celebrate their home language, while non-Spanish-speaking children naturally learn Spanish through play, instruction, and daily interaction—building confidence, curiosity, and global awareness.
With the majority of our staff bilingual in Spanish and English, children are supported by caring professionals who create a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment where every family feels welcome.
As a not-for-profit center, all tuition and funding are reinvested directly into our classrooms—enhancing learning materials, enriching activities, and maintaining a high-quality space for children to thrive.
We proudly partner with Preschool for All (PFA), Head Start, Early Head Start, and the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) to support families who qualify for assistance, while also offering full-pay enrollment options for families seeking a premier bilingual early learning experience.
