New International Student Orientation: Admissions/Immigration Check-In

Welcome to Western Illinois University!

Step 1: First, complete your orientation tasks -  (https://www.wiu.edu/global_studies/services/orientation.php).

Step 2: Email Dana Sistko, Immigration Specialist, at  dm-sistko@wiu.edu  with this completed form attached along with a copy (an attached picture is ok) of the demographic page of your passport, visa and the 1st page of your I-20.

Step 3:  Once this information is received, you will receive additional immigration information.  Your registration hold will be removed and you will be able to register for your courses on STARS.

Step 4: Students who were accepted based on unofficial transcripts, mark sheets, degree certificates, etc. as stated in your acceptance letter must provide official original documents to the International Admissions Office to fulfill the conditions of your acceptance. Your original documents must be presented to Sheryl Harty in the School of Graduate Studies-International Admissions.

Students must email  sd-harty@wiu.edu  to make an appointment for the presentation of documents after the completion of your 14 day quarantine (if applicable). Failure to provide original official documents will result in a registration hold being placed on your account. No further registration will be permitted until the requested documents are received.

We look forward to meeting you and wish you a successful start at WIU!
