Shall We Dance?

Shall we dance? March 6, 2008

As part of an ongoing commitment to strengthening our regional communities, the Western Illinois University Libraries are co-sponsoring a workshop, "Shall We Dance? The Librarian and the Economic Development Professional," by Maxine Bleiweis of the Westport Public Library in Connecticut. The workshop will be held on March 6, 2008 as part of a series of community and economic development workshops at the 19th Annual Conference on Rural Community Economic Development, presented March 5-6 by the Illinois Institute of Rural Affairs, the Governor's Rural Affairs Council, and Rural Partners, at the Holiday Inn City Centre in Peoria. The workshop will present practical and timely advice on how local libraries can aid community economic development by supporting entrepreneurship.

The registration deadline is February 27 and is $150 for registrations postmarked by February 18 and $160 thereafter. All who are interested in rural economic development are encouraged to attend this interesting conference.
