Western Illinois University Libraries will sponsor a presentation on "Finding Your Ancestors" at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9th in the Leslie F. Malpass Library, second-floor classroom. WIU School of Agriculture Urban Forestry Professor Emeritus Tom Green, who is also a genealogy consultant, has been providing family history consulting since 2004. During his "Finding Your Ancestors" presentation, he will discuss the various ways individuals can uncover information about their ancestors.

"Finding ancestors is much easier today than it has been in the past," he said. "There are numerous websites, some of which are free, and other resources to help people find them. This class will provide the basics for beginners, from getting started, using FamilySearch.org, other websites, and beyond. It will also include discussion on print-based sources of information."
