MAJ Charles Jones graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from Officer Candidate School as an Armor Officer in 2009.

MAJ Jones was initially stationed at Fort Bliss, TX assigned to 3rd Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment as part of 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division. While assigned to 3-41 IN, MAJ Jones served as an Infantry Platoon Leader, Scout/Sniper Platoon Leader, Assistant S-3 and deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. He served as a Captain as part of 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division in JBER, Alaska. During his time at 1-40th Cavalry, he commanded Bravo Troop and Headquarters Troop and deployed to Kosovo in support of KFOR 19.

MAJ Jones went back to JBER, Alaska as a Major and served as the 4-25th IBCT (Airborne) Chief of Operations. He then served as the Operations Officer and Executive Officer for 1-40th Cavalry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 11th Airborne Division. He has also served an Observer Controller Trainer at Fort Polk, Louisiana as both a Captain and Major.

He is a graduate of Armor Basic Leader’s Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, and the Army Command and General Staff College. He holds a Master’s Degree in Military Studies. He attended and graduated Basic Combat Training, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leadership Course, Ranger School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster Course, Cavalry Leader’s Course, and the Cold Weather Orientation Course.

His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation (2 OLC), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, and the Iraqi Campaign Medal. He earned the Combat Action Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachutist Badge, and the Senior Parachutist Badge.

MAJ Jones is married to Carmen Jones and have three children together.
