Strategic Planning at Western Illinois University

Strategic planning helps Western Illinois University set priorities, connect work across the University, and focus our efforts and resources on what matters most.

WIU is currently developing its next strategic plan for 2027–2032. The University Strategy Council is leading a collaborative process that looks at the University as an interconnected system. Student success, enrollment, academic programs, people and culture, resources, operations, partnerships, and institutional effectiveness do not function in isolation. Our planning process considers how these parts of the University affect one another and how we can strengthen our capacity to achieve our goals.

The Council is currently sharing its work to date and gathering broader feedback from across the University before the full plan is developed and finalized.
