The Department of Geography is pleased to welcome two new faculty members: Dr. Fuyuan Liang and Ms. Bingqing Liang.

Fuyuan Liang, a 2008 Ph.D. graduate of the University of Georgia, will teach classes in physical geography, GIS and remote sensing. His research interests include the application of remote sensing and GIS to geomorphology.

Bingqing Liang is completing her Ph.D. in Geography from Indiana State University. She will teach physical geography and GIS courses. Her research interests include land use and land cover change detection using geospatial algorithms and applying remote sensing and GIS to urban analysis including urban temperature modeling, residential population estimation, and urban environmental quality assessment.
