Office of Public Safety Report - 2012-04-13 to 2012-04-16

On April 13 at 5:01 a.m. a University employee reported that the glass had been removed from his driver's side mirror while the vehicle was parked in the Morgan Hall lot. The incident is under investigation.

On April 13 at 9:35 a.m. a WIU Golf Course employee reported that the flag from hole number four, valued at $65, had been stolen. The theft is under investigation.

On April 13 at 1:21 p.m. a student reported that his car had been scratched and tire damaged while parked in the Higgins Hall lot. Damage was estimated at $1,500. The incident is under investigation.

On April 13 at 2:53 p.m. a student reported that two textbooks, valued at $305, she had accidently left on the Thompson Hall elevator had been stolen. The theft is under investigation.

On April 13 at 3:33 p.m. a student reported that she was verbally harassed by a person known to her. The incident is under investigation.

On April 13 at 4:15 p.m. a student reported that someone had stolen a backpack, containing a textbook, notebooks and a coat, from his Higgins Hall room. Estimated total of the stolen items was placed at $130. The theft is under investigation.

On April 13 at 7:15 p.m. the parent of a student reported that his daughter's mail, which included $30 cash, had been stolen from her Thompson Hall mailbox over the course of the semester. The thefts are under investigation.

On April 13 at 8:16 p.m. two students in Higgins Hall were judicially referred for fighting.

On April 13 at 10:12 p.m. Patrick Keane, 19, of 804 Henninger Hall, was given a notice to appear May 15 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams), possession of a false ID and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor in Henninger.

On April 14 at 12:40 a.m. one student in Washington Hall was judicially referred for behavior and and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On April 14 at 1:37 a.m. three students in Tanner Hall were judicially referred for behavior.

On April 14 at 2:35 a.m. Jesmar Guzman, 19, of 834 Thompson Hall, was arrested in Thompson for illegal consumption alcohol by a minor. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail.

On April 14 at 2:56 a.m. nonstudent Samuel Tadros, 19, of Frankfort (IL), was given a notice to appear May 15 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor in Thompson Hall.

On April 14 at 10:25 p.m. Evan Ibsen, 19, of 607 Thompson Hall, David Kwoczala, 20, of 616 Thompson Hall, and nonstudent Chelsea Gourley, 19, of Urbana (IL), were each given a notice to appear May 22 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor in Thompson Hall.

On April 15 at 2:11 a.m. Mary Kerwin, 21, of 114 Chandler Blvd., was arrested in the 1000 block of West Adams Street for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was lodged in the McDonough County Jail.

On April 15 at 2:02 p.m. Alyssa Gonzales, 18, of 836 Thompson Hall, was given a notice to appear May 22 on a Macomb City ordinance violation for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor in Q-Lot.

On April 15 at 3:11 p.m. a student reported that the passenger window on her vehicle had been broken out, causing $200 in damages, while parked in Q-Lot. The incident is under investigation.

On April 15 at 4:03 p.m. a student reported that he left his wallet, which contained ID cards, a debit card and $38 cash, in the Bayliss-Henninger halls dining center and when he returned the wallet was gone. The theft is under investigation.
