Office of Public Safety Report - 2012-07-25 to 2012-07-27

Western Illinois University Office of Public Safety

• On July 25 at 3:31 p.m. officers from the WIU Office of Public Safety and firefighters from the Macomb Fire Department were dispatched to a fire alarm in the basement of Olson Hall. No fire was found.

• On July 26 at 12:05 a.m. OPS officers and Macomb firefighters responded to a fire alarm and report of smoke on the 14th floor of Higgins Hall. Clothing had been placed too close to a lighting fixture and was smoldering. The clothing was extinguished with water.

• On July 26 at 11:50 a.m. OPS officers and Macomb firefighters responded to the 11th floor of Washington Hall. No smoke or fire was found and the alarm was reset.
