Office of Public Safety Report - 2012-09-05 to 2012-09-07
On Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. a student reported the theft of her bicycle, valued at $250, sometime between 11 a.m. August 30 and 7 p.m. Sept. 3 from the Morgan Hall bicycle rack. The theft is under investigation.
On Sept. 5 at 2:25 p.m. a student reported the theft of three bottles of prescription medication, valued at $500, from his Olson Hall room sometime before 11:30 a.m. Sept. 2. The burglary is under investigation.
On Sept. 5 at 10:27 p.m. a student in Henninger Hall received a judicial referral for disorderly conduct.
On Sept. 6 at 10:45 a.m. a student reported the theft of $100 from her Higgins Hall room sometime between 7 p.m. August 31 and 3 p.m. Sept. 4. The theft is under investigation.
On Sept. 6 at 9:54 p.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a report of smoke and fire in the Corbin/Olson halls kitchen area. A student used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Hot grease in the kitchen was found to be the cause. Cabinets in the area sustained smoke and fire damage; a damage estimate was not available. No injuries were reported.
On Sept. 7 at 1:36 a.m. Ryan J. Cochrane, 20, of 414 W. Wheeler St., was arrested on West Adams Street near Western Avenue for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. He was lodged in the McDonough County Jail.
On Sept. 7 at 2:21 a.m. a student received a judicial referral in Higgins Hall for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.
On Sept. 7 at 5:25 a.m. criminal damage to a motorcycle parked in the north lot of Sherman Hall was reported. No damage estimate was available. The incident is under investigation.
On Sept. 7 at 6:33 a.m. OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on the second floor of Beu Health Center. No fire was found and no injuries were reported.
